Web Advice: Getting Started

There is nothing easy about selecting a web hosting service.  It's confusing as all get out!  There are so many pieces: domain names, hosting services, ISPs, that it's hard to know how to get started.

Since I've had a number of friends who have struggled with "What do I do!?!?!" when wanting to start their own website, I thought I'd write up my suggestions.

In a Nutshell

There are several steps involved in setting up your own website:

• Have internet connectivity of some kind
• Purchase a Domain Name
• Select a hosting service
• Sign up with the hosting service
• Set up your email accounts
• Build a website
• Publish your website

As I get time, I'll be building a page for each step, and try to walk you through them.  Obviously, lots of people have different opinions on how to do this, but this is my take.  I hope it's helpful to someone!
