While I'd been in California (February 2001), my friend Howard was
looking into the possibility of finding a motorcycle for me (thread
called "Girlfriend needs learner bike", apparently). He'd gotten
a few leads, so on the way back to Dayton from a trip to COSI (with
all 5 of our kids), we stopped and looked at a Ninja 250. I
